Can somebody please tell me the manufacturer/Seller of the carriage vest used by GMP firearms officers and taser officers. The taser carriage supplied to me isn’t ideal but I have spoken to people who say this vest is comfortable and obviously able to carry a taser with the correct equipment. I have pictures but can’t work out how to get them on here! Haha. Thanks in advance for any help.
I'm a final Year engineering student at the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of art and I'm looking to design a product that would hall the police in some way. I'm looking to design a new piece or redesign a new piece of equipment that would help you in some way. If you are a police officer, I would love to hear from you. Tell me which of these problems you think is the biggest and why. Also if you feel there is another issue you think I have missed then I would love to hear from you. Uniform & PPE So this stuff can be very restrictive and burdensome. I've spoken to a number of officers and apparently back pain can become a big issue for some as a result of the stresses of wearing this. It can dig in when sitting and drink as well which can present problems. Getting in and out of cars quickly can be troublesome. The uniform can get pretty hot and sweaty. Deep breathing if you've just been running or something is restricted by the tightness of the body armour too. Ampel Probe For Police Scotland, the officers are meant to use an ampel probe when performing searches. The problem is that no one uses it really because they don't carry it on the belt because it's too big and bulky. Covert Holster Police Scotland are looking to develop this. It doesn't sit well under the clothing and you always have to wear a belt to secure it to. Female officers have complained as they don't always want to wear a belt with the clothing they have and then even when they do it doesn't sit right and can dig into her breasts which can be very uncomfortable. Transporting Criminals Apparently there are a lot of assaults on police officers when trying to move people into or out of a police vehicle. Vans have to be used for those who are aggressive because there is no cage in the back of a police car. Paperwork A lot of time is taken up with paperwork. Rain is a problem if you're outside and you have to be taking notes. Radio's Apparently the battery life of the radios you use are pretty terrible and then there are also sometime connection problems in the cold. If you have any contacts with anyone who deals with police uniform and equipment then I would love to hear about it.
Good Morning All, New poster here. I am a young postgrad of Forensic Science, I am currently doing some research for a personal project and I was wondering if anyone here would be able to assist me? I am basically trying to find out if there is a standard set of equipment for police in regards to Interviews, if so what is that standard? I understand that a lot of the equipment used by UK constabularies are standardised (Uniform, Kit Belts etc.) but there appears to be no information about police interviews. I understand that there may be no informationa publically as the forces do not wish the public to know what kit there is, the other possibility is that there is no standard. If anyone would be able to assist me on this, that would be fantastic, Thanks

Hi all. I am due to have my uniform fitting for my role as a Special. Can anyone advise what actually happens with this session. May seem a daft question as I can guess what it'll probably entail, but just want a bit of info from others who have done it? Many thanks
