Hi all! My career ambition upon leaving school is to secure a place on the forthcoming Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship program. For Year 12, I have to secure a week's work experience. I've contacted my local force, Avon and Somerset Constabulary, however they are unable to offer me any placements, and when I asked if they could suggest alternative areas that would be relevant, they simply directed me to the National Careers Service page, which wasn't much help. So I'm looking for thoughts. What area would be a suitable use of a week in order to gain experience that would help in securing a place in the police? Obviously a law firm seems like a decent idea, however so many solicitors focus on aspects other than criminal law, which would be less relevant, I suppose. If anyone has any inside or valuable knowledge to share that'd be great!
