Hypocrisy - Cameron on Local Council and Police Cuts

Recommended Posts

David Cameron privately lobbied to stop the closure of police stations in his constituency as the force tried to find £60m of savings, the BBC has learnt.

David Cameron is involved in a row with the Conservative leader of his local county council over cuts to services.

The PM has written to Oxfordshire council leader Ian Hudspeth saying he is "disappointed" at proposed "cuts to frontline services, from elderly day centres, to libraries, to museums".

It seems simple to me.  Cameron and the Tories cut funding to councils and police.  Those organisations then cut staff, functions, buildings as a result.  Constituents complain to Cameron as their local MP and he then complains to the council and police about the effects of cuts he instigated!

Cameron asked the council to consider back office savings as a way of meeting the cuts but the council leader replied saying that those easy cuts had already been made meaning that future reductions would have to come from front line services.  It looks like Cameron is out of touch and is unaware of what has been going on in order to meet government plans.

He can't not have known.........but at some point he's got to do the stuff that his constituents moan about.

His constituents voted him in, so (basically) voted for the cuts, so (and it's easy to say because I'm not one of them) they should STFU and take what's coming, not bitch and moan to their MP who, and let's face it, doesn't give two s**ts about anything other than himself.

They got what they voted for.  Little, no that's not right, NO sympathy.

He's being a massive hypocrit, but that's how you get on as an MP - shameful really.
