Royal assent given.

Recommended Posts

The new Infrastructure Act that allows for the creation of a Government Company to replace the Highways Agency was given Royal assent today. This means that Highways England goes live on 1st April 2015 (yep - Aprils fools day - what a joke!) This means that the term HATO will no longer exist.

I've moved it to Traffic / Roads Policing. Not Policing, but linked to traffic I suppose.

So Highways England Patrol Officer (HEPO) ? ;)

We'll be Highways England Traffic Officers - no abbreviation as our bosses don't want it shortened!
