Hang on.

We're missing a treat here.

I'm sure there are Specials who are plumbers. If we get calls to fix plumbing while they're on duty, we should send them out to do some plumbing. Indeed, I think plumbers probably get paid more than I do, so let's charge the general public a few quid for the service and make some cash out of it.

After all, I'm sure I've just read that some Specials are able to use their 'real world' experience in dealing with collisions and other (real) police work. So let's let them deal with stuff they are actually paid for..........

Perhaps the Police should charge £60 for all call outs - that should help the funding. Not forgetting double time at weekends and treble on bank holidays.
