  1. I am a journalist at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism and I am doing some research into how budget cuts are affecting the day to day working of the justice system. I've spoken to a few recently-retired police officers who have shared their stories of police forces battling to keep up their good work in the face of crippling cuts to overtime, staff and equipment. But I would really like to hear your views. The news is full of figures and statistics but I am not sure people understand just how the cuts are making policing more difficult. If you would like to share your experiences on this forum then please do (as broad or as specific as you like), or if you'd rather email my address is maevemcclenaghan@tbij.com I can keep things anonymous if people do not want to talk 'on the record', at this stage I am just trying to get a truthful picture of how the cuts have impacted the police.
