I also forgot to add that if anyone wants to join us on the exped next year on either leg (kayak across the channel / cycle the d-day invasion route) you are more than welcome as we have a few spaces available. We have Tom Chilton the Touring car driver with us for the exped for any petrol heads! We are asking for £150 to cover the cost of transport / accomodation and food so have a check of the web and get in touch if you fancy a mad challenge next year! Cheers! Tony

Hi Thanks for the web site ideas, I will get on to them later on today after I have been to bed - nightshifts, Love them!
  7. HI to all on the forums. I am a newbie here and was hoping to promote our fundraising efforts for injured troops. We have the support of the Met Police, a member of which has suggested I post our fundraising event up here. We are running a motorbike ride out from Ryka's cafe in Dorking, Surrey to Portsmouth on the 7th September, rain or shine. It costs £10 per bike and that includes a hot breakfast and free entrance into the D-Day Museum in Portsmouth. We are setting off at 10am on the day and registration is from 0930hrs onwards. For more info see www.push2freedom.co.uk The ride is in aid of the new organistation we have set up called Push to Freedom which was set up in June this year. A group of us are aiming to kayak across the channel from Portmouth to Normandy and then cycle / handcycle along the d-day mission route in an effort to raise money and pay our respects to those who have lost their lives and been injured and those who continue to do just that. The big idea is to raise money so we can create a benevolent fund for the guys and gals injured whilst serving their country. There are a few well known charities out there that say they are doing this but we want to focus on the social and recreational needs that often get put aside. If anyone is around and wants to have a good ride out before the weather turns (HaHa!!) then please get in touch, and thanks in advance for any support that you can give. Regards, Tony Phillips.TonyP2008-09-15 13:07:35
