  1. Standard Interviewing Equipment

HMService, Traffic Rat, 999tommo. Thanks for all of your help.
  2. Standard Interviewing Equipment

HM Service, Great response I had gathered from media publications and Traffic Rat that the police were in a transistion. So as of yet there is no Standard Issue recorders, it is just dependant on that particular forces budget.....interesting. Do you know if they are aiming to make one brand or type of equipment the standard?
  3. Standard Interviewing Equipment

999tommo I thought as much as I couldn't really find much in the public domain, I'll go with NEAL at the moment. Again 999tommo and Traffic Rat, thanks for your help
  4. Standard Interviewing Equipment

Traffic Rat, Thanks again, it's a start. One final question, wouldn't happen to have an idea where I could get more information on this?
  5. Standard Interviewing Equipment

Traffic Rat So generally video interviews are only conducted when the police feel that the CPS will go for a prosecution. And in regards to the equipment, you wouldnt happen to know who is the most popular within the constabularies or is it Neal? Thanks again for the reply
  6. Standard Interviewing Equipment

Traffic Rat, thanks for replying I apologise as I may have been too vague in my first post, I understand that the British Forces use to use cassette tapes and are working towards digital recording, what I really wanted to know is: Are all forces intedning to use digital recorders? Who manufactures these recorders? Do they have a specific model number? Is there a Police SOP for their operation or is there published tech specs? Or is the set up and format of recording the choice of the constabulary or individual station? Again any help would be great, thanks.
  7. Good Morning All, New poster here. I am a young postgrad of Forensic Science, I am currently doing some research for a personal project and I was wondering if anyone here would be able to assist me? I am basically trying to find out if there is a standard set of equipment for police in regards to Interviews, if so what is that standard? I understand that a lot of the equipment used by UK constabularies are standardised (Uniform, Kit Belts etc.) but there appears to be no information about police interviews. I understand that there may be no informationa publically as the forces do not wish the public to know what kit there is, the other possibility is that there is no standard. If anyone would be able to assist me on this, that would be fantastic, Thanks
  8. Standardised Police Equipment

Apologies, have just seen there is a Kit Discussion Thread, I shall post there.
