  1. Not sure whether any of you know but Pocket Sergeant is a new police related app. It may help those in the job. There's a blog to go with it too. To find out more you need to visit www.pocketsergeant.co.uk
  2. NICHE

Niche is a brilliant tool. It takes a long while to get your head around and 6 years on, I am still learning! The great thing about Niche is everything is linked. There have been questions asked of Niche and why all police forces won't buy into it at one time. People seem to think this will never happen because if all forces are using the one system, Niche are likely to hike up their prices. I'd personally like to see EVERYTHING recorded on Niche in future rather than having a million other systems and passwords too.
  3. Does anyone know where I would get these from? I spoke to a Police Mutual and they don't issue a separate book of definitions and points to prove to BTP officers. I cannot find them anywhere and would rather not have to trawl the PNLD for them all as it will take forever. Nothing in my Blackstones Police Operational Handbook either! 4. Good morning, It is my first post on the forum. I've literally just come across this site so hope you can help me! I am currently building what I hope will be the ultimate mobile application for Police Constables and Special Constables. I am a serving Police Constable at the moment and wanting to get the app out there to save officers time and money. The app will predominantly be a reference tool for when officers are out and about. There are already a couple of basic apps out there (predominantly expensive ones) but mine is a lot more detailed. I need YOUR help though if any of you are kind enough to assist? I already have most of the content I think I need but I'd like to add even more. So what I want to know is: What kind of information (including pictures/diagrams/photos) would you like to have at your disposal when carry out your daily duties ? What could be completed quicker if you had certain info with you ? The app will be complete shortly after Xmas and would like to input from you about what you think I could include. It has taken nearly to develop but it will be worth it. Thanks in advance!
  5. Thanks for all responses. I'll leave it there for now. Anyone else has any thoughts then please PM me rather than clogging up the message board. Thanks again Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  6. The PVH is okay but I'm not wanting to copy it. I can't go into too much detail yet but they won't be the same. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  7. Many forces are moving away from PDA s and BlackBerry. Some may stay with BlackBerry because of cost. I don't buy the excuses about Apple and Android not being as secure. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  8. I am going for Apple and Android at the moment. Forces tend to be going down the Android route as the software is less restrictive. Within the next 12 months or so don't be surprised to see forces all over the country using phablet / tablets for crime recording, obtaining statements and carrying out checks etc Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  9. Yeah I'm in the job. I've posted on the police specials forum too for ideas on what else to cover. These apps are the way forward. The likes of Black stones etc have no plans to release apps so I guess it is down to us to be inventive and do it for ourselves. My main aim is to develop the app which will save officers time and money. It can even be used as a revision tool for promotion. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  10. In addition I have no intention of advertising the app itself on here, I just wish to gather ideas from those who may use one. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  11. Hi 999Thommo, it is highly unlikely I will make any financial gain as the application has cost me so much to have made! If anything I will be at a loss. I'd hope this isn't classed as spam as my goal is to assist the police service and individual officers. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
