  1. G20 Protests

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Violence-Breaks-Out-As-G20-Protesters-Demand-Death-Inquiry-Man-Died-After-London-Demonstration/Article/200904115254497?lpos=UK_News_Carousel_Region_0&lid=ARTICLE_15254497_Violence_Breaks_Out_As_G20_Protesters_Demand_Death_Inquiry%3A_Man_Died_After_London_Demonstration This really makes me sick, the protestors are asking for an enquiry into the unfortunate death of a protestor. No doubt it will be along the lines of officers didn’t try hard enough to give first aid whilst being bottled and stoned by the very protestors wanting the enquiry!. Maybe if the officers weren’t being attacked by the complete idiots then effective first aid could have been administered unhampered!<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  2. Bipolar

Bi polar is highly treatable and can be managed very effectively with medication. However the problem occurs when the person is well, or becomes slightly elated, as they don’t feel they need medication anymore, which makes the person become rapidly unwell again. The moods seldom alternate rapidly in terms of a few hours but maybe 24 hour period but usually from normal to low ,or normal to high not low to high. When Bi polar effects people with elated mood it can make them the life and soul of the party, sexually dissinhibited and socially inappropriate, commonly spend excessive amounts of money they don’t have. They are often out spoken and they get what’s known as pressure of speech where it’s almost like they talk at 100 mph with out coming up for air, and can jump from subject to subject with out thinking. These people often aren’t aware of their behavior or don’t remember their actions and when their mood starts to stable, and are made aware of how they behaved has a tendency to sink into the big depression. The medications are some what improved now however can make persons very tired. I think it could be problematic being a police officer however she clearly has managed this far. It really depends on the severity and how managed. Bullet762009-04-02 13:31:56
  3. Ghost Stories

Quite a few years ago working in Southend one night was working with 8 others on a carrier; we got called to a disturbance to a blockbusters video shop that was situated in an old terraced parade of shops. The staff were shocked that they could hear smashing glass banging about and what sounded like people running about from the top floors as there was only one way into the building. All 8 of us could hear the commotions and all ran upstairs together 2 floors. Both floors were completely empty and there was no indication at all of a disturbance. We had no doubt we were in the location we had heard the noises coming from. We all left quietly nobody said anything on the way out except one officer said to the shop manager “Its not the police you need fella”. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The only future he deserved was a prison cell!

  6. What a Plonker

Why was he asked to quit and not sacked?
  7. Its ok he was "very remorseful". Just encourages more idiots to assault police knowing they not going to be doing time in prison!!
  8. Failed the Police AC...

I think the difficulty is that SLR 1 is coming from the view of a PCSO. ( I mistakingly thought that SLR 1 was a PC and never heard of a PCSO tutoring a special, NOT THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE) But to put in to perspective the training (ESSEX) of a special requires them to still do a 2 years probation. They are required to do a PDP just like the regular probationers and they are expected to have 100% attendance at HQ county training when required and 100% divisional training sessions. This actually ammounts for new Specials over 120 hours classroom based training a year and actually this is a very conservative estimate. Then add to that the actual operational working hours it becomes quite considerable amount of training and input for a volunteer.
