  1. Ill health Pension 24 years Service

Have you consulted the Federation as they should be fighting this for you. It is worth visiting the web site www.pipin.org.uk they have a lot of information regarding sickness medical and injury retirements. They also have a Forum for officers affected by similar.
  2. Fail to provide after hospital procedure

Cannot understand why, but then I suspect that you would get several different decisions from several different CPSA's. I have had similar and it was just because the particular CPS did not want a fight in court. They may have had a drinks party lined up.
  3. Height

Relax, it should be no problem at all. Hope everything goes alright for you.
  4. Will my spent conviction hold me back

It will always be a black mark pointing towards irresponsibility, and a lot depends on the circumstances but, each application is dealt with on its merits and this varies from Force to Force. The conviction and points will always be on record at DVLA. You will have to show that you have matured and reformed over the last few years. Good luck anyway.
  5. Yes, ours should have done but they were too busy.
  6. I'm have never known one Det. Insp. attend hospital for a GBH case let alone two. If the case was serious enough then they might, might get a D.Sgt, and D/C. It is usually the lower ranks that do all the donkey work, usually D.C's but occasionally a D.S. D.I.'s are usually in the office to supervise over seeing cases and admin.
  7. So you would be able to do better, I wish you good luck, you will need it.
  8. And of course your contribution to standing up and being counted is. ......... Try bring a Federation Rep if you are disatisfied. There is an old saying about put up or,
  9. Proofreader query on ranks

Full title Detective Superintendent, or shortened Det. Supt. They cannot shorten it to D.S. because of Sergeants. Detective Chief Superintendent = Det.Ch.Supt. Detective Chief Inspector = D.C.I. Detective Inspector = D.I. Detective Sergeant = D.S. Detective Constable = D.C.
  10. Youtube.

You should not be leaving your laptop lying around.
  11. They used to have number plates at the front but this was scrapped in the 1970's as it was deemed that they were dangerous. As ReasonableMan says you need to lobby your MP. If it is any consolation I do not know of many Police Officers who do not hold the same opinion. It always makes me laugh when they describe it as Moped Crime, it is not. It is perhaps Motor Scooter Crime. A moped is something until 50cc which can also be propelled by pedals and usually accelerated from 0 to 10mp in about 6 minutes, and that is with pedal assistance.
  12. Mopeds on motorways

It summarises the Law and the prohibition on vehicles and use is post on the Motorway signs. When a person applies for a driving licence they confirm that they are conversant with the Highway Code, which can be replied on to support evidence for a multitude of offences. It also lists offences with the statue relating to it.
  13. Mopeds on motorways

Read your highway code it is all in there. The highway code is the book that everyone who holds a licence has declared that they know and abide by.
  14. When asked by a Cief Officer, "What can we do for you" How about the reply, "When I call for urgent assistance you could make sure that there enough officers for someone to attend" I wonder how that would go down?
  15. If it was years the Ms Dick would have beeb fully aware. She could have said "No" But as usual it will be ignore the public, they are here to serve us, not the other way round.
  16. Fiearms Certificate

If you declared them last time then it is essential that you declare them this time. If the motoring convictions were as far back as 1980 I would be amazed if they would decline to renew your firearms licence. Just make sure that you can account for the firearms and the amount of ammunition held. As you said S.W. Police are taking a hard line on undisclosed convictions. You have already disclosed them. It appears that some people may not have been disclosing past convictions and it is those where a problem and crack down arises.
  17. Fiearms Certificate

What did you declare last time, I suspect that you did not include those in 1980. Not too sure of the wording now in the questions but I would suspect that as you are only renewing the certificate you would not declare two driving convictions nearly 40 years ago that you cannot remember the details of. The think that the only one you would need to declare would be a conviction like Driving over the drink drive limit. But, this is only the advice that I give and I could be wrong having retired 5 years ago.
  18. Being papered by IPCC

I believe so but, the Federation can tell you 100%
  19. writer research

It is unlikely that the DI would be making the enquiries, that would be done by the murder team, D.C's or D.S's. There would probably be a Det.Supt. in charge and the team would attended the morning briefing for updates, and the allocation of enquiries. The OIC would keep the senior officers above him appraised of any progress and that would be progressed up to the Chief Constable.
  20. And, some thought Cressida Dick was the Bees knees. Demoralising the troops is not a very clever strategy.
  21. The problem is that the people who assault Police do not give a dam about the consequences. Of course it takes some form of hero to assault a female officer, and that is not sexist at all. She received support from her tutor, Inspector and the Federation which is to be expected. Assault on Police has always been a problem but the Courts should show that it is taken seriously by remand ing each case to Crown Court for sentencing. It needs the Court to give substancial sentences for Assault Police. The report does not indicate if the offender was arrested or not, or even made a Court appearance. There are ofcourse the occasional pposter on here who criticise the use of force by officers when arresting an offender like this. There are more interested in criticising the Police and do not like to acknowledge that there are offenders out there who think nothing of using violence.
  22. It is no surprise how many forces got involved in PFI. Even a novice schoolchild knows that if you get something then, at some time, you have to pay for it. In the case of the GMP they went on a spending spree under Peter Fahy and will be in debt forever more. They went on a spending spree building new DHQ's and an Headquarters when there was very little wrong with the ones that they had.
  23. Judges win pension case

Both please make sure that you seek expert advice from the Federation, as I believe that both Chiefs have acted unlawfully. The only problem is that I am out of date with the Regs and no longer have copies of them. I believe that you are able to request a new review of your injury and disability. Do not be afraid to contact your MP either, you would be surprise how a letter from them to the Force shakes a few branches.
  24. Mopeds used in Crime

Bosses just do not like acknowledging a hue problem. I would not describe them as mopeds, they are motor scooters. It is well known that they can escape down entries and paths anytime. They have to be stationary at some time, and that is the time to hit them. A large majority are stolen and using false plates.

I believe that you are right but, as I say I am a little out of date so would be loathe to comment. However your JBB Federation Officers should know. A Local Fed. Rep, however dedicated, does not have the intimate knowledge required. Contacting the NARPO office in Wakefield could also be helpful. Check out the PIPPIN web site and their Forum which carries a lot of information and contacts.
