  1. Yes but it is a farce serving platitudes. Nobody is going to fail anything. If anything like ours some people were attending 4 and 5 times to make up the numbers as many were not available. We never had a list of who was qualified and the cleaners could be better qualified.
  2. Let us be honest about this, When was the last time that anyone took a St. John's First Aid refresher course. There was a time when this was done every 3 years. At the present time there are very few officers wo are actually qualified to perform first aid. Unless all officers are trained then this should not be being considered. Having said all of that I do not know of any officer who would not attempt to save some persons life, qualified, or not. It is what we do.
  3. Likewise O.C. As far as I am concerned there should be a zero tolerance regarding any form of violence in our hospitals. Like you I visited and encouraged visits by my officers. Nothing like a cuppa and personally knowing the staff.
  4. PC Keith Palmer laid to rest

"See you tonight Love". "Ok take care" The conversation that every officer has every day on leaving for work, never knowing if he will return. R.I.P. Keith
  5. Missing person mandatory information

Yes that should be ok. If the Police have already spoken to you they would not divulge your location against your wishes. However, if this is not so, you could save a huge amount of time and energy time by going to the Police and saying, A, and B have reported me as a missing from home. I am here and I am safe and well, but I do not want them informing of my whereabouts.
  6. Missing person mandatory information

I agree we would just tell them that the person was well and was not a missing person. I would however add that I might disclose that they were safe and in this country, if there was concern that the person could be in danger if abroad. But, generally just inform them the person was safe and well.
  7. Even though many have lost out on the values of the pension it is still better than the majority of pension schemes. Private pensions cannot compare.
  8. Yes they pay Casual and Essential car allowance but that is because they do not have enough vehicles to do their jobs. You get the extra costs as your own vehicles mileage increases, as well as maintenance and the rise in the Insurance when you notify for Police Use. It will certain add a layer of administration and red tape. Someone has to administer it.
  9. I agree, but I would have no problem with authorising the first 28 days and, I would think that a Superintendent would not have too many problems.
  10. Yes, but a Superintendent can authorise longer.
  11. I cannot see how they can save money.
  12. We have the usual "Scallies" who we see month in month out but among all this there are sometimes people who are innocent. It should only bee the more serious and complex cases which need a time limit of more than 28 days. It has not been unheard of for people on bail for long periods to surrender to bail when the investigators have know for several weeks that they are not going to be proceeded against and could have informed them prior to this and cancelled their bail. Thankfully those cases are few and far between. There are however genuine cases which are more complex and require more time.
  13. Constant false allegations

My point is. There is a legal disclaimer and it is dangerous for us to give advice when we do not know the full story, and even then we should not. There are always two sides to every allegation. The lady may be perfectly correct but it is for her solicitor to sort out and advise over her many options of action.
  14. Constant false allegations

Why are we giving legal advice on a matter where we do not know the circumstances. The poster should consult a solicitor, pay for the advice and follow that advice. I once dealt with a similar case to find that the allegations being made by a wife were completely false. We do not know the full and true circumstances and I feel we should not give advice line this on a forum.
  15. I look forward to a risk assessment and duty of care.
  16. There is decency and understanding in so many, but do not let PSD know. His efforts should be acknowledged by all communities.
  17. The Group Insurance pales into insignificance. I am sure the family would rather have him about. R.I.P
  18. Cressida Dick to be new Met Commissioner

Hmm, Tony Blair and Alister Campbell were cleared over the War in Iraq. You have your opinion and I have mine, they differ.
  19. Beggars Belief

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/jessica-hussell-thomas-fendall-jailed-12760370 How could this happen, it shames us all. What on earth were they thinking, if at all. Not them first time either as serving officers have done similar in the past. Should the recruiting process have brought up alerts, whatever it beggars belief.
  20. Cressida Dick to be new Met Commissioner

    We disagree, full stop.
  21. Cressida Dick to be new Met Commissioner

And if the source is wrong, as it was in this case?
  22. Cressida Dick to be new Met Commissioner

You are adding 2 + 2 and making 5, as usual. Stick to the topic and stop attacking the posted ad hominin. I discuss with serving officers and ex colleagues and other ex officers at many social events. Officers in the Met deserve better leadership than they had in the past, present and future.
  23. Cressida Dick to be new Met Commissioner

I am entitled to my opinion and stand by tCommissioner . As foir Reasonableman and Cheese, what has a NARPO meeting got to do with this? Also for Doolydog, I would put my record to stand against yours any day of the week. I assume that you are unbiased in any way being Met.but you are welcome to your new Commisioner
  24. And, as one family we all feel it. You go to work never knowing what is going to happen. RIP.
  25. Cressida Dick to be new Met Commissioner

As I have already said, sorry but I do not agree. She has blood on her hands and is a bad choice.
